In a world where smartphones dominate attention and distractions are just CONSTANT, two brothers are taking a radically different approach: what if your phone simply refused to cooperate… until you prayed?
That’s exactly the idea behind a new app currently in development by brothers Ben and Matt. ( actual brothers but also brothers in Christ )
Just a month and a half after the initial idea sparked, the project has already moved into full development, with core design, user flow, and product vision clearly defined. The concept is simple—but powerful:
No prayer –> No access.(No Social Media like Youtube, Instagram, or TikTok) etc..
The app currently being considered under names like “My Daily Prayer App” or “Light Keeper: Focused Prayer App”and is designed to help Christians build consistent, disciplined prayer habits in a modern, distraction-heavy world.
A Digital Discipline Tool
At its core, the app introduces a bold mechanic rarely seen in faith-based products:
- Users must complete their daily prayer
- Only then are key features unlocked
- One prayer per day = one step forward in your streak
It’s not just a tracker—it’s a transformation system.
“We didn’t want another passive app people forget about,” says Ben. “We wanted something that actually changes our lives. Something that puts prayer back where it belongs. And it should be first.”
The app features a minimalist, warm design centered around a symbolic oil lamp: representing the biblical idea of keeping your lamp burning.
Why This Matters
Prayer is supposed to be an exciting part of a believer’s day. Not something that only happens when you “feel right”, but something that is a constant throughout your day.
But in reality, when we go about our days – it’s easy to miss a prayer.
You wake up, check your phone, something pulls your attention and suddenly the day is already moving. By the time you remember, it feels late, or you’re tired, you push it to tomorrow, or you get distracted by yet another message or push notification, right??? Haha, we’ve all been there.
It’s not that people don’t care about prayer.
It’s just that everything else gets in the way.
And over time, that adds up..
Matt puts it bluntly:
“If something isn’t scheduled, it gets replaced. Prayer shouldn’t lose to Instagram.”
This app is built to reverse that.
At the end of the day, it’s the end of the day. 🙂 And this app isn’t really about the technology.
It’s about building a real, consistent relationship with our Heavenly Father. Not waiting until you feel ready or “in the right mood,” but staying in touch with Him daily simply because you can.
He’s not distant. He’s your Father. The One who created everything, and still cares about the details of your life.
Prayer isn’t something you have to earn your way into. It’s something you’re invited into, day after day.
